Rod Mill
Brief Intro of Rod Mill:
For a large range of applications, ores, coal, rock and other raw materials must first be processed in a rolling mill before it can be used in the following production link. The Ball Mill and Rod Mill designed by K.M.M perfectly coordinate and match a number factors to ensure not just the quality of materials but an extraordinary level of mill productivity.
As other types of mills, Rod Mill is used to grind material into fine powder, but differ from Ball Mill, it employs long steel rods instead of balls as the grinding medium.
What's the difference between Rod Mill and Ball Mill?
Because of the much higher weight of rods, the Rod Mill is more suitable than Ball Mill to break larger pieces of ore/rock/gravel/coal and so on. Rod mill is particularly suitable for the production of artificial sand and gravel, it is also called "Rod Grinding Sand Making Machine" in China.
As the grinding rods do not require cascading as balls do, the Rod Mill can be operated at typically slower peripheral speed than Ball Mills.
The void spaces ( or interstitial space) within a Rod Mill load are approximately half those in a ball mill grinding load, so there is more grinding contact between metal and and this make it more efficient than ball mill.
